Joomla migration to J2.5 wth K2, Virtuemart and K2Mart

I have an existing site with K2, K2Mart and Virtuemart which I need to upgrade to Joomla 2.5.  I tried upgrading K2 only and it didn't work.

What is the correct order to upgrade the three products, and does it matter?
